The Prince George County Board of Supervisors announced on May 26 that residents unable to attend the board meeting in person can participate electronically during the public comment and public hearing periods. The announcement provides a Microsoft Teams link specifically for those wishing to speak remotely at the May 26th meeting.

This measure is intended to increase accessibility for residents who cannot be present in person, allowing broader community input during key segments of the board’s proceedings. The county clarified that this Teams link is not meant for viewing the meeting itself; instead, those interested in watching are directed to use the Live Streaming and Video Archive page.

According to the Virginia Department of Education, Prince George County Public Schools District enrolled 6,181 students during the 2023-24 school year, marking a slight increase from the previous year’s total of 6,106 students. Among these schools, Prince George High School had the highest enrollment with 1,818 students. White students represented the largest ethnic group with 2,765 students (44.7%), followed by Black students at 1,880 (30.4%). North Elementary School enrolled both the largest number of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students in the county—46 pre-kindergarteners (27.7% of all pre-K) and 119 kindergarteners (25.1% of all kindergarteners).

Residents who wish to provide comments or participate in public hearings can join via Microsoft Teams using this link: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/299933289749206?p=ve2dMDpa0btAUDWr55.

The Board encourages participation from community members as it continues efforts to make meetings accessible and inclusive.
