Weather permitting, Post Forest Drive in Fair Oaks will experience lane flagging on July 19. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced that the section between Black Ironwood Drive and Random Hills Road/Legato Road will have one lane of alternating traffic due to work related to the shared-use paths project.

The flagging is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19. Drivers and bicyclists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.

The project involves upgrading the sidewalk along the south side of Post Forest Drive to a ten-foot-wide shared-use path, stretching from just west of Black Ironwood Drive to Random Hills Road/Legato Road. Completion is expected by mid-2026.

VDOT advises drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians to exercise caution in active work zones, remain alert to new traffic patterns, and minimize distractions.
