The Satanic Temple (TST) has launched its second telehealth abortion clinic, named the “Right to Your Life Satanic Abortion Clinic,” in Virginia. According to a press release from TST, this facility provides virtual consultations and prescribes abortion medication, which is discreetly mailed to patients. The organization frames abortion as a religious ritual and argues that restrictions on abortion infringe upon their religious freedoms. The clinic operates around the clock, offering services free of charge with patients only responsible for the cost of medication. TST also provides financial assistance and is working to expand access in other states.
“Here’s your reminder that abortion is evil,” said Kelsey Pritchard, Political Communcations Director. “The Satanic Temple’s messaging is eerily similar to the abortion lobby’s and their goal of abortion at any point in pregnancy is the same. If the Satanic Temple is already setting up shop in Virginia now, imagine what they’ll do if Democrats are successful in passing an amendment to end parental consent and allow third-trimester abortions. We must defeat the Democrats in November and stop them from winning the House of Delegates.”
According to Live Action, TST previously opened a similar clinic in New Mexico called “The Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic.” The group claims these services reflect their religious beliefs and positions itself as the sole provider of “religious” abortion care. This initiative is presented as a response to restrictive abortion laws and perceived threats to reproductive freedom.
In a press release, TST said: “With the opening of our Virginia clinic, TST Health is expanding access to a new region, offering safe and affordable virtual abortion care to those who need it most.” They further mentioned efforts to increase access in other states by taking legal action in restrictive states such as Indiana and Idaho.
Kelsey Pritchard, Political Communications Director at Susan B. Anthony List, commented on the situation. She said that the Satanic Temple’s message on abortion mirrors that of the broader abortion lobby following the recent opening of a temple facility in Virginia that describes abortion as a religious ritual.
