Pipe replacement to close part of Thurston Road in Chesterfield County

A section of Route 1452 (Thurston Road) in Chesterfield County will be closed for a pipe replacement project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The closure is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The affected stretch is between Route 637 (Hopkins Road) and Route 1620 (Dorsey Road).

VDOT stated that homeowners will continue to have access to their properties during the work.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes. Eastbound drivers should travel west on Thurston Road, north on Hopkins Road, east on Route 611 (Kingsland Road), and south on Dorsey Road. Westbound drivers should travel east on Thurston Road, north on Dorsey Road, west on Kingsland Road, and south on Hopkins Road.
