Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close the intersection of Route 671 (Mount Hermon) and Route 604 (Genito Road) in Chesterfield for a crossline pipe replacement project. This closure is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

VDOT has assured homeowners that access to their properties will be maintained throughout the operation.

Motorists are advised to use specific detour routes. For westbound traffic, the suggested route involves traveling west on Route 604 (Genito Road), continuing through a sequence of roads including Route 667 (Otterdale Road), Route 652 (Old Hundred Road), Route 671 (Mount Hermon Road), and so forth, eventually returning east on Route 604 (Genito Road).

For eastbound traffic, travelers should proceed east on Route 604 (Genito Road) and follow a detour that takes them through Route 622 (Dorset Road), Route 634 (Stavemill Road), and other routes as detailed in the road closure notice, before looping back to Route 604 (Genito Road) eastward.

VDOT provides a customer service center for inquiries related to the project, which can be reached at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Updated traffic information is accessible through 511Virginia at 511.vdot.virginia.gov and on the 511Virginia mobile app.
