The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a planned closure of Route 1001, also known as Green Street, near Eggleston Street in Amelia Court House. This closure is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate a pipe replacement project.

During this period, homeowners will still have access to their properties. Motorists are advised to follow designated detours to navigate around the construction area. For northbound traffic, the detour involves heading west on Route 1002 (Dunn Street), south on Route 38 (North Five Forks Road), east on Route 1001 (Eggleston Street), and then north on Route 1001 (Green Street). Southbound traffic should go west on Route 1001 (Eggleston Street), north on Route 38 (North Five Forks Road), east on Route 1002 (Dunn Street), and south on Route 1001 (Green Street).
