Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Route 603 (Petersburg Road) in Powhatan for a crossline pipe replacement project. The closure is scheduled near 442 Petersburg Road on Thursday, April 3, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Homeowners will retain access to their properties during the operation.

For southbound traffic, motorists should travel north on Route 603 (Petersburg Road), then north to Route 639 (Pilkington Road), continue north to Route 622 (Clayville Road), proceed west to Route 604 (Genito Road), and finally head south to Route 603 (Petersburg Road).

Northbound traffic should travel south on Route 603 (Petersburg Road), then east to Route 604 (Genito Road), continue south to Route 622 (Clayville Road), proceed south to Route 639 (Pilkington Road), and finally head north to Route 603 (Petersburg Road).
