The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced that the entrance ramp from Route 123 South to I-66 West in Fairfax will be closed overnight on Sunday, November 2. The closure is expected to last from approximately 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, November 3, while crews complete pavement repairs.

During the closure, drivers heading west can detour by continuing south on Route 123, turning right onto the westbound 66 Express Lanes, then exiting to Route 50 West and following signs to re-enter the general-purpose lanes on westbound I-66. No tolls will be charged for vehicles using this detour route.

The schedule for this work is dependent on weather conditions and may be postponed to Monday night, November 3 if necessary.

“Drivers are advised to use caution and stay alert to roadway signs if traveling through this work area,” according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
