Route 360 over the Rappahannock River between Richmond County and the Town of Tappahannock will experience overnight lane closures starting next week due to bridge maintenance. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, work is scheduled for Sunday through Thursday evenings, beginning Thursday, August 7. There will be no overnight work on Fridays or Saturdays.
During maintenance, Route 360 will be reduced to a single lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. when crews are present. The planned repairs focus on the bridge deck and are expected to last for approximately three weeks, with completion anticipated by late August 2025.
Traffic flow in the work zone will be managed by automated flagging devices operated by flagging crew members. These devices can be adjusted in real time based on congestion or incidents that may occur on the bridge.
Travelers seeking updates about this project can find information on 511Virginia, download its free mobile app, or call 511 from any phone within Virginia.
“Automated flagging devices will direct traffic through the work zone. Flagging crew members operate the devices, which can be adjusted to respond to congestion or incidents on the bridge.” according to officials.
