Overnight closure planned for I-64 eastbound for sign installation in New Kent and James City

All lanes of Interstate 64 eastbound will be closed overnight for four hours between Eltham Road (exit 220) in New Kent County and Old Stage Road (exit 227) in James City County. The closure is scheduled to begin as early as Tuesday, October 21, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and is necessary for the installation of an overhead sign.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to follow a signed detour. Motorists traveling eastbound on I-64 will exit at Eltham Road (exit 220), continue onto New Kent Highway and Old Stage Road, and then use the on-ramp to return to I-64 east.
