A section of Route 230, known as Orange Road, in Madison County has been closed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) due to downed trees and power lines caused by a severe storm that hit the area earlier today. The closure is expected to last while crews work on clearing the debris safely.
Traffic is being redirected onto Route 626 (Oneals Road) and Route 616 (Carpenters Mill Road) leading to U.S. 29. Motorists are advised to avoid the affected area, adhere to posted detour signs, and exercise caution when using secondary routes.
