Old Dominion University’s women’s tennis team won its sixth-straight conference championship after defeating Marshall 4-0 in Rome, Georgia, on April 26. The match was clinched by Kira Matushkina’s straight-set victory on court one.

The result highlights Old Dominion’s continued dominance in the conference and marks another milestone for the program. Head Coach Dominic Manilla said, “Well done to all involved in bringing this championship home. I’m so proud of this incredible group of women. Through thick and thin they stayed the course all season long. We played arguably our best match of the season today in the conference title match. I’m so happy for this group and excited to get ready for NCAA’s.”

In doubles play, Uladzislava Manzhos and Marina Markina opened with a 6-2 win on court two, while Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova secured the doubles point with a 6-4 victory on court three. The remaining doubles match was suspended at 5-3.

Markina recorded Old Dominion’s first singles win with a commanding performance on court six, followed by Rasskouskaia’s victory on court five. Matushkina then delivered the decisive singles point to seal the overall team win.

With this triumph, Old Dominion will make its seventh consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, learning its seeding on Monday afternoon.
