Old Dominion University will host James Madison University in its final home women’s lacrosse game of the season on April 25 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex, according to an April 22 announcement. The match is part of the TowneBank Royal Rivalry Challenge and will also feature a Senior Day celebration before the scheduled 1 p.m. start.

The event holds significance as it marks the last opportunity for Monarchs fans to see their team play at home this season. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live statistics available online.

Old Dominion enters the matchup with a record of five wins and ten losses after falling to Monmouth, 9-5, in their previous outing. Goalkeeper Brynn Bowen made 13 saves during that contest, while Jules Mills scored twice and Julia Butler, Annalynn Pompetti, and Natalie Calandra-Ryan each added a goal. Calandra-Ryan leads ODU this season with 32 points from 23 goals and nine assists. Lydia Laney and Molly Heimerl have both contributed nine goals and eleven assists each, tying them for second on the team in points.

Bowen has tallied 145 saves so far this year, placing her first in saves per game within the conference and tenth nationally.

James Madison arrives with an eight-win, seven-loss record following a recent victory over Vanderbilt by a score of 14-9. Jordan Peterson, Maya Antonakas, and Olivia Matthews each recorded three goals against Vanderbilt; Kaitlyn Carney and Payton Root scored two apiece while Lauren Savage added one goal. Goalkeeper Abigail Beattie made eight saves during that match for JMU.

Root leads James Madison offensively with 69 points from 25 goals and forty-four assists—ranking first in the conference for both assists per game and points per game—while Matthews follows with forty-six points (thirty-five goals) and Peterson adds forty-three points (thirty-six goals).

James Madison currently leads the all-time series between these teams by thirty-nine wins to eight.
