Old Dominion men’s golf remains 12th after second round at Sun Belt Championship

Old Dominion University’s men’s golf team remained in 12th place after the second round of stroke play at the Sun Belt Conference Championship on April 28. The tournament is taking place at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.

The event features a field of 14 teams. Old Dominion has a two-day total score of 20-over-par 596 after combining for a seven-over-par 295 on Tuesday. Coastal Carolina leads the competition with a nine-under-par total of 567, while James Madison and Arkansas State are also among the top three teams.

Kaijun Ma and Cullen Campbell are currently tied for 33rd individually with scores of four-over-par 148 each. Quin Covington follows with a six-over-par score to tie for 43rd, Jakub Sutor is one stroke behind Covington at seven-over-par to tie for 46th, and Joe MacPherson sits tied for 56th at ten-over-par.

Campbell recorded Old Dominion’s best round on Tuesday with an even par-72. Covington improved his performance by four strokes compared to his first round, finishing Tuesday with a tally of 73. Sutor completed his second round with a score of 74.

Individually, Max Bengtsson from Coastal Carolina leads all players at eight-under-par through two rounds. Jake Wallis from Arkansas State is one shot back at seven-under, while Louis Anceaux from ULM holds third place at six-under.

For Wednesday’s final round of stroke play, Old Dominion will be paired with Georgia State and Louisiana. The Monarchs are scheduled to tee off from the tenth hole between approximately 10:45 and 11:21 a.m.
