Old Dominion University head women’s basketball coach DeLisha Milton-Jones announced on May 6 that Natalie Gallant will join the Monarchs as director of basketball operations.
The appointment brings a new leader to oversee the program’s daily logistics and support the student-athlete experience. The role is considered important for maintaining structure and efficiency within the team.
“We are thrilled to welcome Natalie to the Monarch family,” said Milton-Jones. “Her organizational expertise, ability to build relationships across departments, and passion for elevating the student-athlete experience make her the perfect fit as we continue to build a championship culture at ODU.”
Gallant comes from Northeastern University, where she served as director of basketball operations from 2023 through 2026. She holds a master’s degree in sports leadership from Northeastern and an undergraduate degree from Gordon College. Gallant began her time with Northeastern as a graduate assistant coach before moving into her most recent role.
“I’m honored to join Old Dominion women’s basketball and be part of a program with a storied history of success,” said Gallant. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Coach D, our staff, and our student-athletes as we build a championship culture. I take pride in the structure and details that keep a program running efficiently, and I’m looking forward to bringing organization, consistency, and energy to the daily operations that help our program perform at a high level.”
Previously, Gallant worked at Emerson College as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator between 2021 and 2023. There she helped achieve top academic honors for two years among NCAA Division III women’s teams while managing recruiting communications, evaluations, campus visits, NIL initiatives within NCAA rules, alumni relations events—including organizing record-setting Alumni Day—and other administrative tasks.
At Northeastern she assisted with integrating systems aimed at efficiency in team management; coordinated recruiting logistics; contributed strategic input during game preparation; and was part of staff credited with securing a win over Boston College. In addition to Gallant’s hiring, Gee Lawler will also join Old Dominion after serving at Tarleton State.
