Route 634 (Oak Park Road) in Madison County will be closed on Tuesday, August 5, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a pipe replacement project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The closure is planned weather permitting.
The construction area is about 200 feet from the intersection with Route 607 (Lillards Ford Road). The affected section of Oak Park Road lies between Route 722 (Fishback Road) and Route 607.
Local traffic will be allowed through the closure zone, while through traffic will be detoured onto Route 722 and Route 607. VDOT stated that signs will guide drivers along the detour route.
“Motorists should be alert for workers and construction equipment, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling through the area,” VDOT advised.
