Route 3 travelers should prepare for brief daytime delays when crossing the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River next week.

From Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties will be limited to one-way alternating traffic due to maintenance work.

Between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., part of the bridge will be reduced to a single travel lane. Automated flagging devices will manage traffic through the work zone. Flagging crew members operate these devices, which can be quickly adjusted in response to congestion or incidents on the bridge.

The lane closures are scheduled weather permitting.
