Baseball fans attending the sold-out Cosmic Take Over Tour at Harbor Park Stadium are being offered free transit options for the glow-in-the-dark games on June 5 and 6, according to a June 2 announcement from the City of Norfolk.

Hampton Roads Transit will provide complimentary rides on both the Tide light rail and Elizabeth River Ferry. Free rides on The Tide will begin at 2:30 p.m. each game day and continue for two hours after each game concludes. Trains are scheduled to run approximately every 10 minutes before each game and about every seven minutes afterward.

Special ferry service between North Landing in Portsmouth and Harbor Park will also be available, with ferries departing every 30 minutes starting at 3 p.m. until all passengers have left following each game. Fans can access these services by showing their game tickets.

A block party is set to start outside the stadium at 4:30 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Free parking is provided at four park-and-ride lots serving The Tide, as well as both MacArthur Center garages, allowing fans to use nearby stations for easy access to Harbor Park Station.

When leaving the stadium, light rail users are advised to follow marked lines near the main entrance—one line directs eastbound traffic toward Newtown Road, while another leads westbound travelers toward EVMC/Fort Norfolk Station. Hampton Roads Transit staff will be present at key locations to assist riders, reminding everyone to use designated crosswalks and sidewalks around train tracks.

Norfolk encompasses about 235,000 residents and features a government led by a mayor and seven council members who set policy and manage city affairs, according to the city’s official facts page.
