Route 55, known as John Marshall Highway, will experience a nighttime closure between Thoroughfare Road and Beverleys Mill Road. The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that the closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. on Monday, June 23, to 3 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24. This is due to the replacement of a drainage pipe.

Access will be available for those needing to reach properties along Route 55, but traffic cannot proceed past the pipe replacement site located slightly east of Turner Road in either direction.

A detour will redirect through traffic via Route 55, Route 15 (James Madison Highway), Route 15/Route 29 (Lee Highway), and Beverleys Mill Road back to Route 55. Drivers are advised to adhere to posted detour signs.

Traffic updates and work zone information can be accessed online at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, through the free mobile app 511Virginia, or by calling 511 within Virginia at any time.
