The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on April 8 that all lanes of eastbound Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) between Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) and the I-495 interchange in McLean will be closed nightly from Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12. The closures will take place each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for overhead sign work related to the ongoing 495 NEXT project.

These overnight lane closures are expected to impact drivers traveling through the area, who are advised to follow posted detour routes via eastbound Route 7 and northbound Route 123 for access to I-495 or continued travel on the Dulles Toll Road. In addition, a daytime shoulder closure is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 along eastbound Dulles Toll Road between Route 7 and the Beltway.

Further ramp closures are planned starting Monday, April 13 through Wednesday night, April 15. During these nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Exit 18B from eastbound Dulles Toll Road to northbound I-495 Express Lanes will be closed for noise wall construction along I-495. Motorists should use Exit 18A onto southbound I-495, then take Exit 46B for northbound Route123/Chain Bridge Road before turning onto Scotts Crossing Road and rejoining the northbound Express Lanes.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in these areas due to potential delays and changing traffic patterns.
