Nicole Olivencia, senior capital projects manager at Henrico County Public Schools, was honored as the “Yay of the Day” recipient, according to a May 5 announcement. Superintendent Amy Cashwell presented the recognition to Olivencia for her work on a recent trailer installation project.
The recognition highlights the importance of strong communication and problem-solving skills in school facility management. According to nominator Rebecca Friedlander, “She deserves this honor because of her exceptional communication and reliability throughout the trailer installation process. She consistently kept me well-informed at every stage, communicated quickly and clearly, and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills whenever challenges arose. Her proactive approach and responsiveness ensured the process ran smoothly and built confidence every step of the way. Her professionalism, efficiency, and dedication truly made a difference and are worthy of celebration. Although we have never met in-person, I am so grateful for her guidance and support during this process.”
Friedlander shared a specific example: “A specific example of a time she made a positive impact is when she communicated with me on a Sunday morning to provide me with an update on the trailer installment progress, so that I could communicate this in-turn with my families.” The nomination underscores how consistent updates can help staff members keep families informed about important developments.
