The median sale price of a home sold in May 2017 in Newport News fell by $4,150 while total sales increased by 968.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2017, there were 235 homes sold, with a median sale price of $175,000 – a 2.3% decrease over the $179,150 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 22 homes sold in Newport News in May 2016.

The median sales tax in Newport News for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $3,024, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for May 2017.
