Visit Williamsburg announced on April 16 that NBC’s 3rd Hour of TODAY will broadcast live from the Governor’s Palace in Colonial Williamsburg on May 15 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time. The event is part of Visit Williamsburg’s efforts to promote tourism in the Historic Triangle, which includes Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, during the nation’s semiquincentennial year.
The show revealed during its April 15 episode that Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer will co-host the special program. Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt will join as a special co-host due to his personal ties to the area as a former student at William & Mary.
Edward Harris, President and CEO of Visit Williamsburg, said, “This is a great opportunity to see Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown on a national stage. As everyone is gearing up to celebrate America250, we wanted to put the full scope of the Historic Triangle front and center in the media, and the reach and influence of TODAY is unmatched.”
Free tickets for fans are available through registration at today.com/williamsburg. The date marks exactly 250 years since the Fifth Virginia Convention met in Williamsburg to debate independence from Britain—a key moment leading up to July 4.
The upcoming broadcast aims not only to showcase local attractions but also highlight significant moments in American history.
