Messiah Amaram and Niya Bryan, instructors at the Center for Communications and Media Relations at Varina High School, were recognized on May 18 as “Yay of the Day” honorees by Superintendent Amy Cashwell.
The recognition highlights the impact that dedicated educators have on students’ learning experiences. The “Yay of the Day” series celebrates staff who make a positive difference in Henrico County Public Schools.
Nominator Joseph Fountain said, “Ms. Bryan and Mr. A both make a meaningful and lasting impact on all of us here in the CFCMR. They both go above and beyond when it comes to teaching us new skills. They also make sure everyone learns new material and if we don’t get it the first time, they make sure to go over it again. Learning all the different studio equipment and navigating the ways of Photoshop haven’t been easy, but with their help, it makes the process smoother.” Fountain continued, “To Ms. Bryan helping us create different designs in Photoshop and showing different effects, to Mr. A. teaching us how to use professional equipment and producing The Morning Show in the studio, both of these teachers bring a positive impact to the day.” Cashwell recently honored them at Varina High School.
Henrico County Public Schools provides educational services throughout Henrico County, Virginia—adjacent to Richmond—and focuses on delivering positive learning experiences through dedicated staff members in various roles; educators have received accolades for classroom performance such as REB Awards for excellence according to the official website.
