William & Mary infielder Matthew Kosuda was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, according to an April 27 announcement from the league office.

Kosuda achieved a .550 batting average over the week, scoring seven runs, hitting one home run, and recording nine runs batted in while maintaining a .900 slugging percentage. He registered hits in all four games played by William & Mary during that period, extending his career-long hitting streak to 13 games.

On Saturday, Kosuda went 5-for-5 at bat with three runs batted in and two stolen bases during a win against North Carolina A&T. This performance matched the most hits by a William & Mary player in a single game since 2012. Over three games against North Carolina A&T, he collected eight hits and six runs batted in.

Earlier in the week on Tuesday at Richmond, Kosuda had three hits out of five at-bats with three runs batted in, including a two-run home run. This recognition marks the fourth time this season that a William & Mary player has received CAA Rookie of the Week honors; no other program within the conference has won it more than twice.

William & Mary’s next scheduled series is set to begin Friday, May 1 against Elon at Plumeri Park.
