University of Richmond women’s basketball player Maggie Doogan was named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Apr. 15.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Doogan is one of only 15 student-athletes selected across all three NCAA Division I teams for this honor, which requires a high grade-point average while pursuing degrees in business administration and leadership studies.
Doogan led the Richmond Spiders during the 2025-26 season with an average of 21.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over 34 starts. She recorded shooting percentages of 50.6 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from three-point range, and made nearly nine out of ten free throws. Her season included a record-setting performance with a program and Atlantic 10 single-game scoring record of 48 points against Davidson on Jan. 10.
In addition to her academic achievement, Doogan’s athletic accomplishments include being named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, earning USBWA All-America Honorable Mention, USA Today Sports All-America Honorable Mention, and being selected as a WBCA All-America finalist. She helped guide Richmond to a season record of 26-8 and their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance—marking their second straight at-large bid.
Over her career at Richmond, Doogan accumulated a total of 2,138 points and collected 871 rebounds in her four years with the team across more than one hundred games played.
The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes student-athletes for their combined success in academics and athletics; this year’s Division I team posted an average grade-point average of approximately 3.73 collectively. Doogan is now the first women’s basketball player from Richmond to earn this distinction.
