William & Mary men’s gymnast Luke Tully became the first student-athlete in program history to earn NCAA All-America honors in all-around during the finals at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Illinois on April 18.
Tully’s achievement marks a significant milestone for William & Mary men’s gymnastics, highlighting both his individual performance and the progress of the program. He placed sixth at the national championship meet with a score of 76.598.
With this result, Tully joins an elite group as only the ninth gymnast from William & Mary to receive NCAA All-America distinction. He now stands alongside former Tribe All-Americans Tom Serena, Sebronzik Wright, Scott McCall, Ramon Jackson, Landon Funiciello, Neal Courter, Jacopo Gliozzi and Andrew Lyubovsky.
The Lebanon, Tennessee native also narrowly missed earning another accolade on high bar after placing ninth with a score of 13.566. Earlier this season, he received regular season All-America honors in all-around from the College Gymnastics Association and earned USA Gymnastics Collegiate All-America honors as well as multiple All-ECAC distinctions across several events.
In addition to Tully’s historic finish, Nicholas Kosarikov represented William & Mary during the NCAA Championships Finals and placed 26th on parallel bars with a score of 12.933. Overall, eight athletes from William & Mary competed individually at this year’s national championship meet.
The performances by Tully and his teammates reflect continued growth for William & Mary’s gymnastics program and set new standards for future competitors.
