Loudoun County Public Schools announced on May 6 the opening of its second Welcome Center, called Welcome Center East, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on April 29. The event also marked the 10-year anniversary of the school division’s original Welcome Center program.
The new facility at 101 Enterprise Street in Sterling is designed to serve families and students who are new to Loudoun County Public Schools. With two centers now operating, LCPS aims to make enrollment and access to academic programs easier for families throughout the eastern part of the county.
Dr. Aaron Spence, Superintendent of Loudoun County Public Schools, said, “For the past decade, the Welcome Center has served as an important connection point for students and families joining our school community. This building does more than expand access. It reflects our commitment to supporting international and multilingual families, connecting them to resources, and ensuring every student and family feels welcomed, valued and included from the very beginning.”
Loudoun County Public Schools serves over 80,000 students across 100 schools and is described as one of Virginia’s most diverse school divisions. School officials say that both Welcome Centers will continue helping students and their families transition into LCPS by providing guidance with enrollment processes as well as connections to educational resources.
More information about services offered at both locations can be found on the LCPS Welcome Center webpage.
