Loudoun County Public Schools announced on April 23 that its latest LCPS Letter focuses on Earth Day celebrations, student environmental initiatives, and updates to online learning registration.
The announcement aims to showcase how students and staff are engaging with environmental issues through hands-on activities and educational programs. The school division said these efforts reflect a broader commitment to conservation and sustainability in the classroom.
Dr. Aaron Spence spoke with a teacher and three students about their efforts to learn more about the environment and ways to protect the planet. Lincoln Elementary hosted its annual Earth Day celebration, which included various hands-on activities intended to encourage thinking about environmental conservation.
In addition, several middle school students are addressing food waste by conducting audits of food waste in their lunch rooms. The LCPS Letter also includes information about changes to Virtual Loudoun Onlineās registration process for families interested in online learning options.
Looking ahead, Loudoun County Public Schools is preparing for the Week of Play from May 4 to May 9. The event will offer opportunities for students across the district to participate in play-based learning experiences focused on creativity, collaboration, and wellness.
