The Liberty women’s tennis team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2026 Conference USA Women’s Tennis Championship after defeating Missouri State 4-0 at the Adams Tennis Complex on April 15.

This result allows Liberty, seeded sixth, to progress in the tournament and face No. 3 seed Kennesaw State in the next round. The match is scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. Eastern Time/1 p.m. Central Time.

Liberty secured an early advantage by winning both completed doubles matches. Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto defeated Matilde Ercoli and Lucy Latham, while Daniella O’Neill and Milana Tsulygina won against Billur Gonlusen and Raluca Puscas. In singles play, O’Neill continued her strong form with a straight-sets victory over Latham at No. 1 singles, Radulova won on court three, and Candy Wai clinched the fourth point with a win over Elsie Jackson at No. 6 singles.

Three other singles matches went unfinished as Liberty had already clinched victory but were leading in each of those contests when play was halted.

With this win, Liberty improves its overall record to 13-9 for the season while Missouri State falls to 3-17. The Lady Flames now hold a collective .635 winning percentage in singles matches this year and .607 in doubles play. Notably, Radulova snapped an eight-match losing streak with her win during this match, while Wai made her first singles appearance since April 3.

Looking ahead, Liberty will aim to continue its unbeaten run in opening matches of the Conference USA Women’s Tennis Championship when it faces Kennesaw State next.
