Liberty women’s lacrosse secured its third consecutive conference win with a 19-9 triumph over Queens on April 18. The Lady Flames, now holding a 7-9 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the ASUN Conference, delivered a strong performance on the road.

The match was highlighted by Ava Rajala’s career-best nine points, including four goals and five assists. Katie Colavito contributed six goals and one assist, while Olivia Young added three goals and an assist. Liberty’s offense was especially dominant in the fourth quarter, scoring nine times to seal the victory.

Ava Menna set a new program record with 20 draw controls, surpassing her previous mark of 18 against Queens last season. The Lady Flames outshot Queens by a margin of 39-21 and held an advantage in shots on goal at 31-15. Both teams collected 22 ground balls each during the contest.

Colavito now leads Liberty this season with 35 goals after recording her sixth career game with six or more scores. Rajala’s nine-point outing ties for fourth most in program history for a single game; she also leads the team this year with 55 points from her combined goals and assists.

Defensively, Liberty forced more turnovers than their opponent (16 to Queens’ nine), led by Colavito and Madeleine Kulunder who each had three caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Rachel Hines made six saves across nearly twenty-three minutes of play, improving her season averages to an 11.48 goals-against average and .434 save percentage.

Looking ahead, Liberty will host Delaware in its final regular-season matchup on Wednesday at home.
