The Liberty Flames baseball team will begin a three-game Conference USA series against the New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces, N.M., starting Friday, May 1. The games will be held at Presley Askew Field and broadcast on ESPN+.
This series marks the start of the final month of regular season play for Liberty. The team recently completed April with a strong record of 13-4 and currently holds second place in conference standings after winning its last two games against Delaware. Liberty improved its overall record to 32-13 following a win over Charlotte earlier this week.
Liberty has demonstrated success on the road this season, posting a 14-5 away record, which ranks as the seventh best in the nation. The Flames are scheduled to play six more road games before finishing their regular season schedule.
Head coach Bradley LeCroy is leading Liberty in his second year with the program and has guided them to a cumulative record of 62-40. LeCroy achieved his 100th career coaching victory when Liberty defeated Hofstra on March 1.
Pitchers Ben Blair and Bradley Zayac have been recognized among college baseball’s top performers, being named semifinalists for the National Pitcher of the Year Award by the College Baseball Foundation. Blair has recorded a 6-3 mark with a 2.94 earned run average over more than sixty-seven innings, while Zayac enters this weekend undefeated at 6-0 with an ERA of 3.09 across fifty-eight innings pitched.
