Liberty University announced on Apr. 27 that its women’s tennis team will compete against Washington in the first round of the NCAA Championship, scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. Eastern Time in Charlottesville. Virginia, seeded seventh, will host the regional rounds.

This marks Liberty’s first appearance in the NCAA Championship after securing an automatic bid by winning its inaugural Conference USA title with a 4-0 victory over Delaware on April 18. The Lady Flames achieved this milestone by winning four matches over four consecutive days.

Washington enters the tournament with a record of 19-5 overall and a conference mark of 9-4, having reached the quarterfinals as the fifth seed in the Big Ten Championship.

The winner between Liberty and Washington will advance to play either No. 7 Virginia (21-5) or Saint Francis (13-7), who also face off on Saturday. The regional structure places all opening-round matches at the site of the highest-seeded team among each group of four programs.

Broadcast details for these matches have not yet been released. Ticket information is available at NCAA.com/tickets.
