The Liberty Flames baseball team will host the Charlotte 49ers at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium on April 28. This game marks the only scheduled meeting between the two teams this season and is Charlotte’s first visit to the stadium.

The matchup closes out a four-game homestand for Liberty, which currently holds a 17-8 home record with six home games remaining this season. The Flames recently won their last two games against Delaware, moving into second place in their conference standings with a record of 15-6.

Head coach Bradley LeCroy is in his second year leading Liberty and has guided the team to a cumulative record of 61-40. LeCroy achieved his 100th career coaching victory earlier this season during a win over Hofstra on March 1.

Liberty’s success at home continues this year after posting a 20-13 record last season. Since opening in 2013, Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium has seen the Flames compile an overall home record of 269-116. The facility also hosted last year’s Conference USA Baseball Championship.

On individual achievements, third baseman Jordan Jaffe was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week for April 27 after hitting .500 with fourteen runs batted in over five games. Jaffe increased his streak of reaching base safely to thirty-two consecutive games and leads the team with twenty-two RBIs and twenty-seven runs scored so far this season.

Sophomore right-hander Cooper Harrington was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List on April 22. Harrington has seven saves and ranks third in Conference USA as well as twenty-second nationally.
