The Liberty Flames men’s basketball team announced on April 25 the signing of Sean Register Jr. for the 2026-27 season.

Register Jr., a forward from Cleveland, Ohio, will transfer to Liberty from Eastern Florida State. He stands at 6-foot-7 and brings experience from his time with the Titans.

Head coach Ritchie McKay said, “He’s one of those guys that after you watch the game, you think that guy had a pretty good night. You look at the stat sheet, and he stuffed it with 26 points, 14 rebounds and a handful of assists. He plays hard and wants what’s best for the team. I think he’s going to have an immediate impact on our program.”

During his single season at Eastern Florida State, Register Jr. averaged 24.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and two assists per game while shooting over sixty-six percent from the field and forty percent from three-point range. He was named a first team NJCAA Division I All-America selection in 2026 and earned honors as FCSAA Citrus Conference Player of the Year as well as being named to the Division I All-FCSAA Men’s Basketball team.

Register Jr.’s freshman year included setting a program record with 769 points in one season—ranking third nationally among junior college players—and earning FCSAA Division I Player of the Week three times along with two national player of the week awards. He also recorded twelve double-doubles and three games scoring more than thirty points.

He will be joining Owen Aquino as another former Eastern Florida State player on Liberty’s roster within three seasons; Aquino contributed during Liberty’s successful CUSA regular season title run in 2024-25.

Register Jr.’s commitment is Liberty’s fourth addition via this year’s transfer portal alongside Cobi Campbell, Cooper Campbell (both formerly at Troy), and Dillon Claussen (from Washburn).
