William & Mary defeated Elon 5-4 in a 12-inning game on May 1, with Jamie Laskofski hitting a walk-off home run at Plumeri Park. Laskofski’s homer marked his first career walk-off and capped a four-hit night for the Tribe, who improved to 20-23 overall and 11-11 in conference play.

The game was closely contested from the start. Elon took an early lead with a solo home run by Brian DuRoff in the first inning, but William & Mary responded as Charlie Iriotakis drove in a run on a groundout. Elon extended its lead to 3-1 after scoring runs in the third and fourth innings. Anthony Greco brought William & Mary closer with a sacrifice fly before both teams exchanged runs, eventually tying the score at four after RBI groundouts by Laskofski and Kevin Francella.

Pitching played an important role as Jack Weight threw three innings out of the bullpen for William & Mary before Charlie Richwine entered in the sixth inning. Richwine held Elon scoreless for more than four innings while striking out four batters. Tom Bourque relieved Richwine in extra innings, retiring seven of nine batters faced and escaping trouble in the twelfth inning by stranding two runners.

Laskofski then hit Sam Nomura’s first pitch over the right-field wall to secure victory for William & Mary. Bourque earned the win while Nomura took the loss for Elon.

According to team statistics, this was William & Mary’s first walk-off home run since March 27, 2022, when Jack Cone achieved one against UNCW. The team also recorded its twelfth come-from-behind win this season. Laskofski finished just short of hitting for the cycle with two doubles among his four hits and nine total bases. Louie Bartletti contributed three hits while Matthew Kosuda added two more hits for William & Mary.
