Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will commence work to rehabilitate the Interstate 95 bridge over the South Anna River on Monday, March 3. This project involves a series of extended lane closures on I-95 near Doswell, stretching from mile marker 97.6 to mile marker 95.6 in Hanover County.

The initial phase will see single left lane closures beginning on I-95 south near Doswell from mile marker 97.6 to mile marker 95.6 at 9 p.m. on Monday, March 3, and continuing until 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 6. Further lane closures will be announced as the project progresses.

Motorists should expect significant delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes during this period to avoid severe backups and ensure smoother travel.

For inquiries regarding the project, individuals can contact VDOT’s customer service center at “800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).”
