Weather permitting, lane closures will take place this weekend on the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes near the Pentagon. This is part of a bridge project conducted by the Virginia Department of Transportation.

– Friday, July 18: Right lane closed from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
– Friday, July 18 to Saturday, July 19: Two right lanes closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

– Saturday, July 19 to Sunday, July 20: Two right lanes closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
– Sunday, July 20: Right lane closed from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Backup times are scheduled if needed:

At least one northbound general-purpose lane will remain open at all times during these periods. Drivers should anticipate delays and consider alternative routes.

Following this weekend’s work completion, traffic on the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes along the bridge will shift left until late August.

These closures are part of efforts to close joints and make minor repairs on several bridges along I-395.

Drivers and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution in active work zones and stay alert for new traffic patterns while minimizing distractions.
