The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close the right lane of Route 60, also known as Anderson Highway, near the intersection with Route 1102 (Dogwood Road) in Powhatan. This closure is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The closure is necessary for a crossline pipe replacement project.
Motorists traveling eastbound on Route 1102 (Dogwood Road) are advised to follow a detour: continue east on Route 60 (Anderson Highway), head south on Route 1101 (Holly Hills Road), proceed east on Route 1103 (Cedar Lane), and then north to reach Route 1102 (Dogwood Road).
For those heading southbound on Route 1102 (Dogwood Road), the suggested detour is to travel south, go west on Route 1103 (Cedar Lane), move north on Route 1101 (Holly Hills Road), and finally head east on Route 60 (Anderson Highway).
Questions regarding the project can be directed to VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Updated traffic information is available through the website www.511.vdot.virginia.gov or via the free mobile app, 511Virginia.
