Drivers in Roanoke County will see a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Route 682 (Garst Mill Road) and Brambleton Avenue starting the week of November 17, depending on weather conditions.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the change will affect which lane drivers use to go straight through the intersection onto Valley Forge Avenue. The straight-through movement for Garst Mill Road traffic will move from the right lane to the left lane.

With this update, drivers in the left lane on Garst Mill Road can either turn left onto Brambleton Avenue or continue straight onto Valley Forge Avenue. Those in the right lane will be limited to turning right onto Brambleton Avenue.

Electronic message boards will notify motorists about the upcoming change. Lane closures and brief delays are expected outside peak travel times as crews work on November 17.
