Liberty University announced on April 27 that third baseman Jordan Jaffe has been selected as the Conference USA (CUSA) Hitter of the Week. Jaffe is the first Liberty Flames player to receive this honor and becomes the second player from Liberty to earn a weekly award this season, following right-hander Ben Blair who has been named CUSA Pitcher of the Week three times.

Jaffe’s performance during the week included hitting .500 with ten hits in twenty at-bats, driving in fourteen runs, and scoring four times. He also recorded four doubles and a triple, while posting a .478 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage. According to Liberty University, Jaffe had at least one hit in each of the five games played during the week and achieved two or more hits in each of his last four games. The senior extended his team-leading streak for reaching base safely to thirty-two consecutive games.

The Moorpark, California native contributed significantly throughout several key matchups. He started with a hit and two runs batted in during Liberty’s comeback win over Duke, where the Flames scored seven runs in the eighth inning for a 13-10 victory at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium. In subsequent games against Virginia and Delaware, Jaffe continued his strong play by recording multiple hits—including extra-base hits—and contributing both offensively with RBIs and defensively with stolen bases.

Jaffe finished his standout week by going three-for-three with two doubles and six RBIs—a season high—in Liberty’s 14-4 win over Delaware. His six RBIs tied outfielder Nick Barone for most runs batted in by a Flame in a single game this season.

For the current season, Jaffe is batting .326 with twenty-two RBIs and twenty-seven runs scored across thirty-four games. He has collected six doubles, one triple, and two home runs so far.

Looking ahead, Jaffe and his teammates will host Charlotte 49ers tomorrow evening at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
