James Madison University volleyball Head Coach Lauren Steinbrecher announced on May 21 the addition of transfer Ella Grace Holloway from High Point. Holloway, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter, will join the Dukes with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Holloway appeared in 20 matches over two seasons at High Point. During her time there, she recorded notable performances including a season-high 12 kills against Central Michigan and six blocks at Brigham Young University. She also played high school volleyball at Lewisburg High School in Olive Branch, Mississippi, where she earned honors such as AVCA All-American and State Championship MVP.

Steinbrecher said, “We could not have been more excited when Ella Grace committed! EG is a physical player who can play high above the net with a heavy arm. We can’t wait to train her and work her into our systems in the fall. She is a great culture fit and is very well-liked by those who know her. The future is bright, and it sure is a great time to be a Duke!”

As a senior in high school, Holloway was named District MVP and Commercial Appeal Athlete of the Year. She also played three years of club volleyball with Memphis Volleyball Academy.

The addition of Holloway brings new talent to James Madison’s roster as they prepare for upcoming seasons.
