James Madison University announced on Apr. 23 that its softball game against Georgia State, originally set for Saturday, April 25, has been moved to a doubleheader on Friday, April 24 because of expected bad weather.

The change affects the schedule for both teams in the Sun Belt Conference and is intended to ensure player safety and avoid disruptions from forecasted inclement conditions.

According to the university, both games will take place at Veterans Memorial Park. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., with the second starting about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener. Fans can watch both matchups live on ESPN+.

The adjustment highlights how spring sports often have to adapt quickly when facing unpredictable weather patterns. Rescheduling games helps teams maintain their competitive schedules while minimizing risk.

Looking ahead, James Madison and Georgia State will continue their conference rivalry under these new arrangements as they compete in back-to-back contests.
