Jaclyn LaHa led the Virginia Cavaliers women’s golf team to victory at the Terps Invitational, according to an April 7 announcement. LaHa secured her first individual collegiate title by finishing at five-under-par 211 at the University of Maryland Golf Course.

The win marks Virginia’s first team title of the season. The Cavaliers posted a combined score of four-under-par 860, narrowly defeating Kentucky by two strokes. The team’s performance was highlighted by a strong second round, where they shot six-under-par 282.

LaHa tied her career-best with a six-under in the second round and followed up with a one-under 71 in the final round, resulting in her lowest 54-hole score against par during her college career. Kennedy Swedick finished third overall at one-over-par 217, which is also her best tournament finish so far. Elsie MacCleery and Mira Berglund both tied for sixth place at two-over-par 218; this result marked MacCleery’s top tournament finish as well.

Remi Bacardi contributed to the team’s success by tying for fourteenth individually with a five-over-par score of 221. Other participating teams included Maryland, High Point, Wisconsin, Michigan, Delaware, Penn State, Richmond, Notre Dame, Harvard, James Madison University (JMU), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Yale, Navy and Georgetown.

Virginia will compete next from April 16-19 at Porter’s Neck Country Club in Wilmington for the ACC Women’s Golf Championship.
