The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is set to conduct emergency pothole repairs on Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 222.5 near Staunton. The repairs will take place on the I-81 bridge over Augusta Woods Drive, necessitating the closure of the right lane from 6 p.m. today through the early morning hours of July 3.
Additionally, the on-ramp from Route 250 (Jefferson Highway) onto I-81 southbound at exit 222 will be closed starting at 5 p.m. All lanes and the on-ramp are expected to reopen by 8 a.m. on July 3, weather permitting.
