I-95 southbound reopens after crash near Massaponax in Spotsylvania

Interstate 95 southbound was closed in Spotsylvania County at exit 126 (Route 1) in the Massaponax area due to a crash, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The closure led to congestion starting two miles before the scene of the incident.

There was no estimated time for reopening provided initially. Travelers were advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Updates about the incident were made available on VDOT’s travel information website, 511.vdot.virginia.gov.

At 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, all I-95 southbound travel lanes were reported open.
