The off-ramp from Interstate 95 southbound to Route 1 at exit 126 in Spotsylvania is scheduled for closure. This closure will occur from 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, to 4 a.m. on Friday, April 11. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will conduct paving as part of a project to construct a second right turn lane and implement other improvements on Route 1 southbound and Southpoint Parkway. The project carries a budget of $15.9 million and is expected to be completed by August 2025.

Motorists heading southbound on I-95 who usually exit at 126 are advised to take alternative routes via exit 130 (Route 3) in Fredericksburg or exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania during the closure period. In the event of inclement weather, the planned closure will be postponed to occur from 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, to 4 a.m. on Monday, April 14.
