I-395 lane closures and ramp detour scheduled at Edsall Road for March 13-15

The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on March 13 that there will be lane closures and a ramp detour on Interstate 395 at Edsall Road in Springfield from Friday night, March 13, through Sunday morning, March 15, due to bridge work.

These closures will affect both the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes and the 395 Express Lanes. The northbound I-395 general purpose left lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday, and again from 10 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday. The southbound Express Lanes left lane will close from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, while the northbound Express Lanes right lane will close from 10 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Additionally, weather permitting, the eastbound Edsall Road ramp to northbound I-395 will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday for bridge work. Traffic during this time will be detoured via eastbound Edsall Road, southbound Bren Mar Drive with a U-turn onto northbound Bren Mar Drive back to the ramp to northbound I-395. Drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones and to stay alert for new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
