The Hokies concluded their 2026 men’s golf season on April 25 at the ACC Championship Tournament, finishing in 14th place after posting a team score of 31-over par, 895 (305-291-299). The team did not advance to match play following stroke play at Shark’s Tooth Club in Panama City, Florida.

This result brings the Hokies’ season to a close, as only teams making the cut move forward to match play rounds. Ashton Harper and Gareth Steyn led the Hokies individually, both tying for 51st overall with scores of seven-over par, each recording rounds of 78-70-75 and 78-72-73 respectively.

Stanford University dominated stroke play at the tournament, finishing as a team at twenty-under par. Edan Cui from Stanford tied for first place individually alongside Cal’s Ziquin Zhou and Duke’s Ethan Evans. All three golfers finished eight-under par before Zhou secured medalist honors by winning a two-hole playoff.

Match play will continue through Monday for qualifying teams at Shark’s Tooth Club (par 72, 7,199 yards), but Virginia Tech’s campaign concludes with this event.
