The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced scheduled highway work in the Culpeper District for the week of March 3-7, 2025. The work is subject to weather conditions and may result in restricted traffic movements and reduced speed limits in work zones.
In Albemarle County, debris pickup will occur on Interstate 64 with shoulder closures expected between mile markers 100 and 125, as well as between mile markers 114 and 115. Traffic engineering activities will also lead to right shoulder closures on Interstate 64 near Crozet and Route 20 at Burnley Station Road. Resurfacing work will cause alternating lane closures on Route 20 and Route 649.
Utility work under VDOT permits will affect several areas including U.S. 29, U.S. 250, Route 240, Route 601, and others. Additionally, bridge repairs on Route 601 will restrict traffic to eastbound lanes with a detour for westbound traffic.
